One of the final two Lethe albums, "To Drown" is a deep drone piece constructed from heavily manipulated live guitar improvisations, drawn out to an expansive and suffocating length meant to evoke the nightmarish infinity of the mysteries of the oceans. Drowning as portrayed here is less a physical embodiment than a state of consciousness, a breaking down of the mithril whisps that comprise the reality. The astral is made manifest through floating in the depths, the inky nothingness hanging cold and indifferent all around. Womblife as a horror show; pressure as emptiness. There is no more need to breathe here.
Altar Of Waste is pleased to unleash this missing piece of the Lethe puzzle. Packaged in a DVD case in a limited edition of 10 hand-numbered copies. $10 ppd. in the United States, $18 rest of world.
