One of the most emotionally harrowing records I've had the privilege of releasing, this massive split unites the blackened satanic ambient/noise majesty of Nighttime In The Abyss with the scathing sickly vomit screaming ambience of Skjelver. I use "ambience" here in a manner suggesting only that both projects terrifyingly summon up persistent auras and atmospheres that linger long after the music has faded away, whether that music is cathartically punishing, calming, anxious, frightening, or transcendent (and all are found in abundance here). After listening to it for the first time I could only sit awash with awe at the overpowering deluge of raw emotion on display. It's a consuming piece of art that demands your total attention across each enervating second. Violence and beauty, the flowering of regret and that first choking pain of true nostalgiah. Sorrow reigns across a barren landscape of self-delusion and self-hatred. Time is a sword, and it will leave scars.
Altar Of Waste is proud to release this incredible split recording. I think it's pretty fucking masterful and I hope it will resonate with you as deeply as it has with me. It's truly intense and sometimes scary.
